DECK - Participants’  Feedback

Between March and May of 2009, a participation survey was distributed to seventy-two D.E.C.K. participants in six different D.E.C.K. kitchens.  The survey was developed by Leo Ramirez, D.E.C.K. Program Coordinator and Karolina Dudzik who is a working on her M.A. in Counselling Psychology at Vancouver’s Adler School of Professional Psychology.  The survey composed of sixteen questions, thirteen rating scale questions and three short answer, open-ended questions.    Results were compiled and analyzed using the survey software website, SurveyMonkey.com.

Over 90% felt the project improved their access to food and improved the lives of community members in DECK.  Take a look at the full survey results here.

Some of the additional comments made about the program:

I am blessed to have this option in my life and grateful for the difference and variety of foods I have been introduced to. I was able to take my Food Safe through this program that I need to work as a Resident Care Attendant in Home Care.

The program has greatly improved the lives of those who have participated.

Very informative, friendly yet serious, skills-building, prevention-oriented.
